As the centre of the gold and slave trade Ghana offers a fascinating repository of cultural heritage. The coast line is dotted with forts constructed by colonial powers. It also has lush forests, diverse animal life, and miles of sandy beaches along a picturesque coast.

Cloudcruising Africa, Day 19 to 21

  • Day 19 | Sao Tome and Principe

Wake up and relax or wake up and be active, there is so much to see and do in Principe and we have the whole day to enjoy it. We depart after dinner this evening for our overnight flight to the capital of Ghana, Accra.

  • Day 20 | Ghana

West Africa – in particular Ghana – is synonymous with the gold as well as slave trade and today we will explore the various forts which dot the coast and have been preserved from previous centuries. These insights assist us in developing a deeper understanding of a very recent history.

After a late local lunch overlooking the ocean we make our way back to the Airlander for our onward flight to Casablanca the final stop on this incredible journey.

  • Day 21 | Crossing the Sahara

Flying over parts of the Sahara desert we head towards Casablanca in Morocco. Our flights take us across the legendary city of Timbuktu and if possible we will make a brief stop at this site before continuing our journey.
